Thank you to all the adults who came to our Showcase on Friday. The children have loved learning about Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers, and enjoyed sharing their work with you. They were also very happy to finally find our missing penguin!
Bounce for Books
The children enjoyed their sponsored bounce, in order to raise money for our School Library. We thank you very much for your generous donations.
Counting in 2s, 5s and 10s
Over the past few weeks, we have been learning to count in multiples of 2, 5 and 10. We have used a number of different resources to help us do this, and can now use repeated addition and arrays to help us work out number problems.
Birch Class followed a set of clues and found a penguin.
Unfortunately, by the afternoon the penguin had mysteriously vanished!
The investigation continues.
We were very excited when Pudsey came to visit to collect his pennies. Thank you all for your generosity.
We have been exploring seasonal change during our Outdoor Learning sessions in Year 1. We have been identifying the different trees and wild plants at the site using a spotter sheet to support us. The children also used the fallen leaves to make themselves some lovely leaf crowns.
We worked together to get across the 'river' without falling in. The children had to discuss their ideas, as a team, to work out how they could get everyone across using only 3 mats. There were a number of different hurdles to overcome and many children were very creative in their ideas. The children showed great perseverance and worked well as teams.
