Welcome to 2016 and a wonderful new beginning for our school.
If you visit our school, you will see the new signs and soon the sculptures that reference the new
direction of the school as part of the RSA Academy Trust.
The excitement is growing as we begin the new term. We continue to work in collaboration with
Church Hill Middle School to develop a creative and innovative curriculum in Years Five and Six
building on the provision children receive at Abbeywood.
In addition, in January, we shall begin to work closely with Ipsley RSA Academy and RSA Arrow
Vale to start to build an aligned curriculum for Key Stage Three in order to enhance the transition to
high school for our children and ensure they are prepared to achieve the best possible grades at
GCSE and beyond.
We want to share in the good practice that each of the schools in the RSA Redditch Trust have but
also ensure that we continue our fine track record of excellent provision, aspiration and uniqueness
We are proud of our school and the team of pupils, staff, parents, volunteers and governors who
work tirelessly to ensure our children enjoy school and relish their learning. Joining the RSA will
give additional opportunities and enable us to provide an even better education for the children in
Abbeywood will be instrumental in driving the Primary Curriculum in all the schools where Primary
age pupils attend within in the Trust and are also on the Steering Committee of the RSA Teaching
School Alliance. This alliance will offer professional development training for teachers and by 2017
we will be training our own teachers!
We look forward to welcoming you to our school. Please contact the school office if you would like
to visit us.
