Developing the CPA Approach in Mathematics

 

This course is aimed at teachers and TA’s.  The focus will be on making effective use of manipulatives in order to move from the concrete to pictorial to abstract within each lesson.  Place value, the four operations and fractions will all be explored.  There will be an opportunity for professional learning between the sessions through the completion of a gap task.

Sharpening Sequences & Deepening Learning

 

This course aims to demonstrate how to use high quality texts to create a tightly focused sequence of learning that provides purposeful opportunities for writing in different contexts and for a variety of audiences. Focusing on Oracy, we will explore ways to extend and develop children’s vocabulary to use effectively in their writing.
