As a finale to our learning on hockey this half term in Year 4 we held an inter-team competition. The children competed in skills and match scenarios with great technique and enthusiasm! It was also lovely to see sportsmanship and respect shown throughout the competition. The results are as follows:

Yellow team: 110 points

Green team: 92 points

Red team: 71 points

Blue team: 59 points

Congratulations Yellow Team!

Our Play Leaders!

Our Play Leaders! 1
Over the course of this half term Sam has been training a selection of KS2 children to become playleaders in our school. The children have successfully graduated after working hard on sportsmanship, fair play and leadership. These fantastic children will lead physical education activities throughout the school and should be very proud of all their hard work.

School Games Silver Award 2018/19!

School Games Silver Award 2018/19! 1

Another great sporting year at our school! We are delighted to announce that we, Abbeywood First School have achieved the School Games Silver Mark Award for the 2018/19 academic year.

The School Games Mark is a Government led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.

Many thanks to everyone who participated in any events throughout the year. Our goal is 'gold' for this year!
