Mother's Day Stall - Friday 22nd March 2019

There will be a chance for children to purchase Mother's day gifts on Friday 22nd March after school on the playground by the year 4 entrance.  Gifts are priced at £2 each.

PTA Film Night - The Greatest Showman :)

Can we just say on behalf of the PTA, we’d like to say a big thank you to everybody who took part in attending the movie night on Wednesday 13th March 2019. It was a huge success and raised over £130. The children enjoyed the chance to spend time with their friends in a cinema environment and loved singing and dancing through the movie.

Christmas Fayre - 14th December 2018 

The next event we will be taking part in is the ‘Christmas Fayre’ on 14^th December 2018. We are seeking raffle prizes so if you know anybody who would like to donate a prize (employers, friends, family etc) we would be very grateful. A list will be published showing who has contributed to the raffle so a free advertisement too J

Abbeywood PTA

PTA Film Night

Can we just say on behalf of the PTA we’d like to say a big thank you to everybody who took part in attending the movie night on 22nd November 2018. It was a huge success and raised over £100. The children enjoyed the chance to spend time with their friends in a cinema environment. We plan to do another one in the New Year so details will follow…

Halloween Colouring Competition

Congratulations to Olivia Harding, Evie Amphlett, Emmy Turrell, Jessica Hennessey and Kian Hill for winning the PTA colouring competition.  Thank you to all the entries who helped contribute towards the £40 raised for school fund. 

Year 4 Leaver's Disco

17th July 2018 @ 5pm - 6.30pm in the school hall

The PTA would like to invite all year 4's to a special disco to celebrate their time at Abbeywood First School.                                                                                                               

There will be hot dogs, ice-cream and squash for all party guests. All year 4's will also get a complementary photo of the party as a souvenir. There will also be prizes for the best dressed girl and boy along with other party games.

Please return your invite/permission slip ASAP if you haven't already.

Sports Day refreshments

This year the PTA will be selling refreshments at the afternoon session on Monday 16th July. Drinks will be available to buy before the start of the session

Mother's Day Gift Table

PTA are running their Mother's Day Gift Table again this year. If you would like your child to select a gift for this special day please return your slip & money in a sealed envelope to school by 6th March.

Children will be selecting gifts week beginning 13th March & they will have them to bring home before the special day. Keep a look out for gifts in your child's bag

PTA Annual General Meeting

Date: 13th February 2017

Time: 6pm – 7pm

Venue: School hall

All parents/grandparents/carers are welcome to attend PTA AGM. At the meeting we appoint offices of Chair, Treasurer & Secretary of the PTA. If you are able to join the committee you would be more than welcome. You can also come along to volunteer your time, skills etc. we will also discuss the aims for the next year, what we would like to spend money on. Plan fundraising activities. Arrange events for the children to enjoy. If you have any ideas or suggestions come along to the meeting. We would love to meet you. Refreshments will be provided so come along relax, chat & enjoy.

Thank you to everyone who donated to PTA "Soggy Socks Raffle". It was another fantastic event. We couldn't do it without your support and donations.

We managed to raise £301.

Which will go towards items at school to contribute towards your child's learning.

Christmas Fayre

Do you have any unwanted gifts you have no idea what to do with? Want to make space for more gifts at Christmas?

The PTA will gladly take them off your hands. Just drop them to the office or PTA member & we will make good use of them.

Also look out for our refreshments stall at the Christmas Fayre & treat yourself to a nice warm drink with a scrummy treat.

​Kobo Readers    

A while ago we purchased 6 Kobo readers for guided reading sessions in school. The school council had a meeting to discuss what books they would like purchased for the readers. We have now purchased the books & they have been loaded on to each reader. Hopefully the children will enjoy using this new piece of technology & will get lots of benefit from them.
