AUTUMN 1

 

As always, the children lead what we teach. So, this term, we have shared how much they enjoy books (especially ones by Julia Donaldson)! 

 

First, we looked at the Snail and the Whale. Next, we learnt from the story the Smartest Giant in Town and George the Giant even came to visit us. Then, we learnt from the Scarecrows’ Wedding.  It turns out we knew a lot about weddings and wanted one of our own.

Reception baseline assessment: pilot commencing this Autumn

We are now piloting the new reception baseline assessment across thousands of schools in England. It is a short, interactive assessment carried out in the first six weeks of reception between a child and their teacher or teaching assistant.
