Welcome to our website where you will find all sorts of information about our wonderful school.
We are proud of our school and the team of pupils, staff, parents, volunteers and governors who work tirelessly to ensure our children enjoy school and relish their learning. The children tell us about how they feel safe and looked after, along with their learning being fun and engaging.
We were awarded 'National Teaching School' Status in May 2018, having previously been a National Support School with a fine track record of excellent provision, aspiration and uniqueness. Collaboration and sharing our good practice with other First and Primary schools, as well as with our RSA trust has been a fundamental part of our ethos. The 'National Teaching School' designation gives successful schools a leading role in the training and professional development of teachers, support staff and headteachers, as well as contributing to raising standards through school-to-school support and we are excited to be a part of shaping the future of Education.
We work closely with our RSA family which enhances the transition from First to Middle and Middle to High school. The schools are collaborating on areas of the curriculum and learning and teaching to ensure progressive and consistently high quality provision.
Abbeywood is instrumental in driving the Primary Curriculum in all the RSA schools where Primary age pupils attend. We also provide professional development training through the RSA Teaching School Alliance in Primary Practice and we offer Primary teacher training so that we can train our very own teachers. This is continually developing since becoming a National Teaching School.
Please take a tour around our website to learn even more about us and why not visit the school and see for yourself what our unique learning environment can offer, where we really do listen to children and meet their needs through contexts that they help to plan.
We look forward to welcoming you to our school. Please contact the school office if you would like to visit us.
